RICHARD F. MULTACK
My name is Richard Multack. I am currently The CMO at Advocate South Suburban Hospital and Advocate Trinity Hospital. I am a member of Multack Eye Care S.C.
I have over 30 years of experience in Medical Group Management, Governance and Operations. I served as President and Chairman of the Board of Midwest Physician Group (120 physician multispecialty medical group). I also served as interim CEO, Chief Medical Officer, and Chief Culture and Change Management Officer. In my role as a practicing physician member of the group I held the elected Surgical Business Seat on the Board of Directors for 25 years. I was a member of the Board of Governors of The Orland Park Surgery Center. I was a Trustee of the MPG corporation self- insured Medical Malpractice Company. I negotiated the sale of MPG to Advocate in 2009.
I have a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Midwestern University / Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. I am a board-certified Ophthalmologist. I was program director for the MWU Ophthalmology residency program for 25 years and held the rank of Full Clinical Professor with Tenure until my retirement in 2010 at Midwestern University. I was also Chair of the Ophthalmology Department for 20 years. I served as the principle Ophthalmic Trauma Surgeon for the level 1 trauma center at St. James Olympia Fields for 20 years. I was on the MEC at St James on and off for 15 years and served as the Chairman of the Surgery Department for 4 years. I received a Graduate Certificate in Osteopathic Medical Education and Leadership from MWU (Costin Institute). My Costin project was developing a course and curriculum on Medical Jurisprudence for Medical Students, Interns and Residents including writing a text book for the course. I served on the Council of Medical Education of the American Osteopathic College of Ophthalmology Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery for 15 years. In that role I have been a Resident Program Inspector for the American Osteopathic Association.
I have participated in many CME programs locally and nationally. I have also lectured internationally on Ophthalmic Trauma (Rome & Wurzburg Germany) for the International Ophthalmic Trauma Society.
I currently perform the duties of the “site” Director of Medical Education and Continuing Medical Education (DME/CME)
I am an Adjunct Professor at Governors State University, College of Health and Human Services, in the Division of Health Administration. I teach Healthcare Microeconomics and Healthcare Human Resource Management. I am the Director of the South Suburban / Trinity Physician Leadership Development Program.
I received an Executive Certificate in Negotiation from Notre Dame. I subsequently received a Graduate Certificate in Health Service Management followed by an MBA, With Distinction and concentration in Health Service Management.
