Dr. Skelton graduated from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1998. He then completed his Transitional Internship at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California, and went on to training and work as a Naval Flight Surgeon with F-18 squadrons off the the aircraft carrier USS Stennis. Dr. Skelton was selected in 2002 for training in Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery, and completed his 5 years of training at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia. He was transferred to the Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan until 2010, during which time he directed the Japanese Internship Program in addition to his clinical responsibilities. Dr. Skelton was then assigned to Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton back in San Diego, and was selected by his peers to be the Chief Medical Officer and Chair of the Executive Medical Committee from 2014 to 2016. Dr. Skelton retired from military service in 2018, and joined ENT Associates of San Diego in La Mesa and Escondido, California where he continues to practice general otolaryngology with emphases on thyroidectomy and parathyroidectomy, sinus surgery, functional septorhinoplasty, and chronic ear surgery.
