Roberto Frusciante, DO is a second-year otolaryngology resident at OhioHealth Doctors Hospital. He is originally from Venezuela and lives in Columbus with his wife and daughter. He completed his medical degree at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and continues to be involved in medical education at OU-HCOM as a Resident Clinical Educator. He is interested in medical innovation, LGBTQIA+ advocacy, and photography.

This case report will address the unusual presentation of expressive aphasia in a patient with acute mastoiditis. 

Nick is a third-year medical student at Touro University Nevada. At the conclusion of his first year, he embarked on his otolaryngology journey. He founded the ENT/Ophthalmology club at Touro and has delved into a mixed array of research subjects.

Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio where I also attending The Ohio State University to obtain a bachelors in Biochemistry. I then attended Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Middletown, NY for medical school from 2015-2019. I was then accepted into an Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery residency position at Kettering Health Network in Dayton, Ohio where I currently reside. I will be joining Michigan ENT & Allergy in Grand Rapids, MI this upcoming fall as an attending physician. I have an amazing wife of almost 3 years and recently welcomed our first child!

3D printing within clinical laryngology is still in its infancy, but demonstrates promise for the future of laryngotracheal interventions and reconstruction.

Deepthi Akella is an OMS3 at the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine applying for otolaryngology residency this fall. Her passion for ENT was ignited very early on in medical school and she has given multiple poster and podium presentations at national otolaryngology meetings since. Her research areas of interest include medical and resident education, pediatric otolaryngology, and otology. She is the founder and president of the ENT interest group at her medical school and is also a writer for The Auricle, an online otolaryngology publication. She is eager to learn more about how to get involved and contribute to the AOCOO-HNS, and hopes to participate in networking and meet mentors while she is in Myrtle Beach.

The study outlines an emergency airway management course for medical students, resulting in increased confidence and readiness for airway management. All participants suggested incorporating the course into the osteopathic curriculum.

Case report of a 25-year-old female diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer, sinonasal NUT carcinoma. This case highlights the necessity of keeping a high index of suspicion for atypical disease in the setting of nasal mass.

My name is Jacob Foster and I am a third-year student at LECOM interested in pursuing Otolaryngology. I grew up in Port Charlotte, Florida, and I completed my undergraduate degree at Florida Gulf Coast University. I like to spend my free time fishing, golfing, relaxing at the beach, and hanging out with my wife and our orange cat, Carmelo.

Our project represents the most extensive social media analysis in Otolaryngology to date. We reviewed more than 16,000 posts related to ankyloglossia and analyzed data including: author demographics, content and tone of posts, and audience engagement.

This review suggests that children with HL experience cognitive dysfunction and early intervention through cochlear implants or hearing aids may be beneficial long term.

Dr. Knight is a fourth-year resident training at McLaren Oakland Hospital, formerly Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital, in Pontiac, Michigan. He received his medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee. After residency, he plans to practice general otolaryngological services for children and adults.

This study provides promising insights into the feasibility of using alternative tests as replacements for traditional automated auditory brainstem response testing, potentially offering more accessible options in certain healthcare settings.
